Cleaning Up a Carpet Spill

Here's a tip I learned from my carpet cleaner, Glover Deep Steam Carpet Cleaning.

If you spill liquids on your carpet, do NOT add more liquid (e.g. club soda) until you first blog up as much as you can. If you do, you'll just spread the stain onto a wider area of your carpet.

Instead, grab a roll of toilet paper, put it on the spill, and step on it. Hold it down for at least 30 seconds and you'll have removed most of the liquid. Turn the roll over, and repeat. Then tear off all the wet toilet paper and repeat with what's left of your roll. Keep doing this until you don't get any more liquid up.

Now, if there's still a stain (and there may very well be), you can try the club soda or whatever you like to try and remove it.
